THE DEATH OF VICTOR WONG

Actor Victor Wong, most famous for his roles in John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China and Michael Cimino's Year of the Dragon delighted audiences with his hangdog facial features and his quick-witted style.
A quick search of the internet reveals a lot about Victor Wong that most people do not know.   He was friends with writer Langston Hughes, he worked as a reporter for a public TV station in San Francisco in the 1960's and was friends with beat writer Jack Kerouac.  In fact, he's even mentioned in the Kerouac book "Big Sur."

Fascinating as all that is, among the most mysterious and bizarre factoids about Victor Wong is the manner in which he died. After the events of 9/11, Victor was glued to his tv set, watching footage non-stop for two days without sleep. Concerned about the fate of his two sons that lived in NYC, Victor watched vigilantly for information and died in front of the tv.

A sad end, to an amazing man.

10 WAYS TO GIVE COPS THE FINGER...

Apparently, the bird IS the word...

According to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd circuit, it is NOT, repeat NOT against the law to give law enforcement officials the finger, nor is it a reasonable response for them to pull you over.

John Swartz and his wife Judy Mayton-Swartz sued two police officers in 2006 who arrested Swartz after he gave them the finger as he drove by them at a speed trap.

I'm not saying it's a good idea to flip off law enforcement officials, but if you do, here are a few ideas to get you started...

1. THE CASH

2. THE GENT

3. THE JESCO

4. THE ROURKE

5. THE CLASSIC

6. THE NO LOOK PASS

7. THE DIPLOMAT

8.  THE SCRATCH

9. THE DEUCE

10.  THE BRIT

THE YULE LOG CAKE

As a first class curmudgeon, it falls on me to tell you how much it disturbs me that YULE LOG CAKES are commonly decorated with candy mushrooms.   Why is this disturbing?  Well, mainly because these cake generally look like big logs of crap.
It isn't really appetizing to me.  If we are talking about magic mushrooms, well, that's different.  Those are supposed to sprout from piles of cow shit.  In any case, any log related cake should not be festooned with fake mushrooms dusted with cocoa powder.

Think I'm kidding?  Well, feast your eyes...
